Fishing an ice cube

Cryogenic decrease: depression of the melting point to the decrease of the freezing point temperature which undergoes a dissolution with respect to that of the pure solvent. All the solutions in which, upon cooling, the solvent solidifies, have a freezing temperature lower than the pure solvent.

Thermal equilibrium : if there are no net flow of thermal energy between them when they are connected by a path permeable to heat. Thermal equilibrium obeys the zeroth law of thermodynamics. A system is said to be in thermal equilibrium with itself if the temperature within the system is spatially and temporally uniform.

STEPS :

-we pour water on glass.
-we put the ice cube on water and the thread in ice cube.
-we pour the salt on the thread and we wait a time.
-when we had been wait a long time, we catch the thread and the ice cube will be

THE TWO STATES OF WATER

Researchers at the University of Stockholm, in Sweden, have discovered two phases of water in liquid state that show great differences in their structure and density. This discovery is based on experiments performed with X-rays and has been published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS). We are all aware of the fundamental role of water for the existence of life on Earth. In fact, it is the main component of the human body: we are 75% water at birth and approximately 65% in our adult age. But water has many strange properties, and in fact in many aspects - such as boiling point, density or heat capacity, among many others - behaves differently to most liquids: for example, the Water is one of the few substances that in the solid state become less dense. And these anomalous properties are an indispensable requirement for life as we know it today.
Anders Nilsson, professor of chemical physics at the University of Stockholm, comments on the discovery they have made: "The most novel and remarkable feature is that we have found that water can exist as two different liquids at low temperatures in which the crystallization of the ice is slow. " For its part, Katrin Amann-Winkel, a researcher at the same university center, points out: "It is a dream come true to follow in such detail how a crystalline state of water turns into a viscous liquid that is transformed, almost immediately, into a different liquid , even more viscous, of a much lower density ". In this way, the team of researchers has shown that water has two different liquid states. "In a few words: water is not a complicated liquid, but two simple liquids with a complicated relationship", summarizes Lars G. M. Pettersson, professor of Theoretical Chemistry Physics at the University of Stockholm. Why is this discovery important? Because a greater understanding of the water molecule could provide clues to know more about the origin of life and even lead to new knowledge on how to purify and desalinate water in the future.Resultado de imagen de agua

Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration

Photosynthesis, the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light lenergy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.

Cellular Respiration Definition

Cellular respiration is the process through which cells convert fuel into energy and nutrients. To create ATP and other forms of energy that they can use to power their life functions, cells require both fuel, and an electron acceptor which drives the chemical process of turning energy from that fuel into a usable form.

water

WHAT IS THE WATER FOOTPRINT?

The water footprint is a measure of humanity’s appropriation of fresh water in volumes of water consumed and/or polluted.

In this grafic we can see that we waste a lot of water in the food section and total we overtake the food and domestics parts. and industrial section we waste a bit.

Balandrito- Sorolla-1909

This painting has been painted by Sorolla,in this picture there is water and a boy with boat toy he is play with water too. We have chosen it because water is very important in our lives, we use it practically for everything we use water to hydrate, for our hygiene and our products the products that we use and eat , for that reason it's very important the water in our lives.

Introduction

We will make new tests and if you want to talk about a specific topic you just have to write comments and of course you will have the most updated information about the world of science. A big hug from the CHEMISTS.
